Angela Geiss

Heya! I'm Angela, a sound designer currently living in Chicago, Illinois.I've worked my whole life around telling stories: from live theatre in school, traveling the world and teaching English, writing music, game making — there is always a story and I love finding the best way to tell it.Currently, I work at Injected Senses Audio. Previously, I worked with the team at NetherRealm Studios on Mortal Kombat 1 and Mortal Kombat: Onslaught. Additionally, I help run the Chicago Audio Hangouts; if you’re local, reach out and join!I am an avid traveler and highly interested in learning about ideas from everywhere in the world. I am also an amateur Muay Thai fighter and always down to spar.I'm passionate about inclusion, diversity, and accessibility within audio. I'd love to connect with like-minded people: let’s grab a (virtual?) coffee sometime!

Mortal Kombat 1

Test Your Might sound design & implementation

I was responsible for all character and object breaking SFX in the Test Your Might sequences as well as the Scorpion Death cinema (featured). (Music has been removed for clarity.)

Mortal Kombat 1

character sound design

Character gameplay I covered include: Khameleon, Darrius, and Mavado’s Fatality. (Music has been removed for clarity.)

Mortal Kombat Onslaught

mixing, sound design, & unreal implementation

I led the re-organization of our mix system in UE5 for mobile in order to bring more clarity to the Supermove moments within the mix, whether the player chose to play on 1x or 2x speed, manual or automatic play. I also contributed SFX for some UI elements, including those featured here.

Mortal Kombat 1

environment sound design

Coverage of 2D fightline and 3D mesa environments required a mix of base and randoms plus 3D point sources using ambient objects, trigger volumes, and splines as audio sources. (Music and some UI have been muted for clarity.)
